The 2nd of December, will commemorate the 43rd anniversary of the founding of
the UAE, which is a treasured occasion for both Emiratis and expatriates to
reaffirm their allegiance and gratitude to the nation and its wise leadership.
National festive across the country
The 2nd of December of each year marks the UAE’s national Day as an independent
nation. In this day the late Shiekh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the founding
fathers, may Allah rest their souls in eternal peace, led the way which changed
the future of a nation and put it on the road to success. They were determined
to establish the UAE federation. At first the UAE was a federation of six
emirates- Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah , Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. The
emirate of Ras Al Khaimah was joined a year later in 1972 forming the seven
emirates federation. The first president of the federation was Sheikh Zayed bin
Sultan Al Nahyan , who hoisted the UAE’s flag for the first time at the Jumeirah
Palace in Dubai.
Under the prudent leadership of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God
protect him, and His brother H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE
Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE is witnessing
remarkable success at all levels and sectors. In a short span of time, the UAE
has achieved fundamental progress in all spans of life, to be on a par with the
most advanced countries.
To mark this occasion, ADGAS celebrations kicked off in the November 25, 2014.
ADGAS celebrations aim to highlight the UAE's outstanding story of progress
since the unity of its Emirates in 1971.
